Illustration workshop with Johanna & Cristóbal Schmal from 19. – 25.05.2025 in Erlau (Odenwald)
The course
Change is everywhere, it surrounds us and happens within us all the time. Nature shows us how to master it, how to integrate into its ever flowing cycle. And yet we as humans often try to withstand it. Are we afraid or did we unlearn to move in its fluidity? Transformation may be demanding, but is always the chance to take consciously direction of our lives - a field where our creativity can flourish and development is possible.
In this course we want to delve into the topic of change, figuring out our relationship with it, taking into consideration various perspectives and personal experiences.
Drawing and painting will be our language and the format of the zine our playground, that offers us the freedom to tell unconventional stories based on our personal narrations. Through a process-orientated and experimental methodology we will step by step build an authentic imagery - an individual space for reflection on the one hand, while on the other creating a universal connection to one of the biggest challenges and chances we are facing as a collective.
